Why Fosterpreneur?

Fosterpreneur empowers foster care youth and alumni by providing them with opportunities to achieve their entrepreneurial and career aspirations. Our comprehensive 8-week virtual business training program covers essential topics such as mindset development, business decision-making, understanding target customers, business operations, and financial literacy.

Fosterpreneur provides:

Individualized Support: Personalized social-emotional support and case management to address unique needs.

Coaching and Training: Group entrepreneurial coaching sessions, one-on-one business coaching, and ongoing support.

Alumni Network: Lifelong access to a network of peers and professionals for continued mentorship and collaboration.

Who Can Apply?

Fosterpreneur is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 30. Special consideration is given to youth who:

a) Have been involved in the foster care system.

b) Have experienced homelessness or temporary housing.

c) Have a juvenile or criminal justice history.

Through their work at our social enterprise, participants gain valuable skills in sales, money management, customer service, critical thinking, problem-solving, business operations, punctuality, attendance, accountability, teamwork, and communication. Participants also complete online training modules in product sales, teamwork, retail basics, and retail tools and technology.

Our curriculum incorporates trauma-informed practices to ensure students have access to the appropriate resources and support, helping them thrive in their entrepreneurial journeys.
